Yeah I sure am still not happy about cutting Trav, but you're right, it was more of a hassle, even if it WASNT our horse that was the cause of the problem. My concerns were taking my wonderfully well behaved stud to a show, having him tied properly, and having someone ELSE'S horse (mare, gelding, etc) get lose or go crazy and cause a fight. I mean, horses kick, bite, rear, etc. they're HORSES... but just because you own a stud you're all of a sudden a trouble maker. Kind of like owning a pitt bull. Wonderful dogs but you're screwed from the start.
I just know that Trav was the epitome of a puppy-dog horse until he was gelded. Now he lays his ears at me among other things (puffing and dancing for 'his' mares and other horses, squeels and fights with other horses) but at least I can turn him out with something and let him learn his lesson!! Under it all, he still is my Big Man.
