Since this is my second (and third) foal I have what may seem like a stupid question.  Does the feel of the mares bag tell how close she is to foaling?  Rosie's is hard and Shot's is more soft/squishy.

The bags get soft before they foal.  When they are hard they really don't have any milk.  Don't over think it, you will be fine.

Well my heart just dropped to my toes!  Shot has the softest/squishiest bad.  I asked her last night what kinda lotion she has been putting on it! laughing9  She isn't due till the middle of the month!  Rosie is due first and hers is hard! Shocked  I know I will be fine.  This is the fun part of foaling, freaking yourself out when they are going to go!

Leave the bags alone, don't milk them as they should start producing colostrum anytime.  Some times Shot may go a little early.  She likes to have her privacy and never lets you catch her Cheesy

I just touch them, I don't milk them or even try!  That is fine by me if they both foal when i am not around!  I just hope they know what they are doing! lol9

Nope, no baby!  I have determined Shot is EVIL!lol!  I fed the horses out side first, normally Shot had he head over the door whinning at me (because she is ssssoooo starved, you know).  Well this AM she didn't have her head over.  I thought OOOO gooodie, she had he baby!  So I rush though feeding "the outsiders" and rush up to the barn (mind you it's still raining, and the grass is wet).    My heart is pounding I get to the stall and then she comes to the door!!! GGGGGRRRRR  she was resting in the back corner!  That Evil, evil mare!  Grin
