Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / The Breeding Shed / Re: Hows everyones babies doing?
I know nobody knows me yet but I wanted to share with you.  I bought a broodmare in foal for April.  She's a red roan tobiano and she gave me a bay medicine hat stallion. Longest legs i ever saw.  I named him Tuffy.

I agree with all of you. Wearing spurs knocks the wind out of them because they're meant to be rolled not bumped that's why your horse slows down. I've broke plenty of horses and none with spurs.

Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / Barrels & Contesting / Re: Need help adding speed
I agree it's hard to get a visual on that one but most of the time when you add speed a horse will shoulder because they don't know how to run and turn that fast. If a horse is blowing by a barrel, their body weight is wrong and they can't slow down. Some horses catch the barrel with their hip coming out driving too hard out of the barrel too. When you add speed to your horse you have to rate your horse sooner and sometimes harder. Pick up on the inside rein more to correct their body weight away from the barrel.

I would check all of my equipment to see if something was rubbing his back or maybe your cinch is too tight sometimes. Something has to trigger him to buck if he usually isn't broncy.
