916  Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / General Horse Chat / Re: Turninburnbuddy-Buddy
I guess in the winter Bop turns brown.  That will be interesting.  No one knows what buddy will look like next year.  He was a bay with a blanket and a star on his forehead.  This year he kinda roaned out with a blanket and black legs???  Looks cool  but no star. Thanks bop is a pretty lady gotta come up with a job for her she is Anglo Arabian about 16 hands real long back.  any ideas?  Everyone who see's her says she is perfect for hunt seat I have never even ridden english.  I think she would be an awsome endurance horse she walks faster then Buddy trots.

Terriers are special creatures.  I had a fox terrier named nasty is dad was arnery and mom was brat.  When people came over to our house he didnt bark.......he chewed on the tires of their car.  He bit water and ate the bark off tree's.  The stories I could tell about that dog would shock and amaze and they are all true.......

I told he needs to check into High School rodeo.  His school doesn't have one its too small but the next district over does so he can join that one.  He is incrediably athletic now he is a football player the whole 9 yards.  Its making me nerveous the whole broken bone thing him and sports will be the death of me.  Why not like something like ping pong or lawn golf?Huh

Yeah he has rode a horse a few times and he is cowboy buckaroo.  She will eventually let him fly maybe that will solve the problem without too much injury.

922  Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / Off the Wall / Isen't someone married to a Bull rider?
I have a 15 year old boy who is 6ft. 3in. and 185lb.  He has a wild hair up his a-- that he needs to be a bull rider.  Not that being a bull rider is a bad thing its just hes a little tall dont you think?   He started riding horses seriously in the last month.  Decided he wants to ride bulls.  What do you guys think?  He has not fallin off a horse yet.  Although the mare he has started riding gives him a run for his money.  She has attitude out the ears.  Any ideas on this will be much appriciated.  I know nothing about bull riding except it looks very painful...... bull

Oregon is the home state.  I have a friend in Washington, if I get her to join she is about 3 hours from Canada.  She just started running barrels again.  I'll talk to her and your bases will be covered.

No offense taken I though those bouncing smilies offended someone.  It takes a lot to offend me.  Yeah I know Mimosa's I have worked in restaurants/lounges for about 20 years now.  My parents have an arab mare they want to breed and they are somehow going to incorprate the name Martinii in the foals name when it needs one.  They want to name there new place Martinii farm or something like that.  They are certifiable...... beer1

925  Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / Barrels & Contesting / Re: Show Yesterday and Pictures
I saw the pics of Blue when you got her wow you did a wonderful thing.  Buddy, my horse,  is a regestered Appaloosa gelding.  (you can read about him in the breeding shed he is a naughty boy)  I got him 2 years ago when he was 7.  He had never been saddled or messed with much the lady that had him gave him away.
He has a funky ear thing.  The lady who gave him away said he has extra ear ducts or Sarcoid tumors.  Well I had a vet take a look at him and the actual answer will blow most peoples minds.  He has teeth in his ears.  One at the base of each ear.  They cause inflamation and on one ear its caused a cyst about the size of my thumb.  The vet says that he is in no pain from them so I haven't gotten it fixed.  Oregon State vet school wants about $2000.00 to fix them.
I started training him on barrels about a month ago. He is totally built to run and do gaming events.  He is doing really well so far.  Back in the 80's when I was a High School kid I barrel racing on a Arabian so this is so much fun again.

Well enough about Buddy......I love all the pictures and stories you all put on here your horses are great and you are all very nice.  Talk to you soon. smile

927  Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / The Breeding Shed / Re: Geldings...
Okay everyone, my Casanova gelding has now challenged another gelding when a friend came by to ride.  He wanted to tear her horse apart.  Her horse just looked at him like he was a nut.  I am thinking next week I may take to a friends place to see if a change of venue makes him act differently.  Shes a trainer with an arena and barrels to run.  It will be the first time I have every taken anywhere to run I'm a little nerveous about how he will do. embarassed shocked cowboyhorse

Thanks for all the coments.  He thinks he is the ladies man.  The mares in the next pasture are the neighbors.  I was up at the pasture yesterday and he mounted and gave it his all like 5 times in half an hour.  Poor guy he was sweating like crazy.  Hopefully he will get it figured out that he just hasen't got it.

930  Welcome to Runninghorses.net Forums! / The Breeding Shed / Geldings...
Okay I am the first to admitt I know nothing about horse breeding.  I own a gelding now and my past horses have been geldings.  This is the first gelding I have had that is soooooooo interested in mares.  His pasture pal is a mare, she is in heat and they are carrying on like he is a prize stud.  Two mares in the next pasture are in heat as well and they line up at the fence.  He was  so worked up today he must have sweated off 10 pounds.  I know he is not proud cut.  Have any of you heard of geldings with sooo much "drive"?  He is doing his best to cover a almost 16 hand mare and he is about 14.2.  Its pretty humorous, I just worry one of them is going to get hurt.  Any thoughts on my buddy boy would be cool.

thanks
