nooooooooooo lol!!!  Ok you have to let me know if he's LESS of a stud now that he's gelded.  Even tho Trav was older by a few years when I gelded him (he wsa 8 at the time, or was he 9? i can't remember, anyway)... he'd never been bred to anything!!!!  And I swear, he acts MORE like a stud now that he's a gelding than he ever did as a stud!!!

Ziggy is 7 this year and has been breeding since he was 2.  He is still quiet and never was a rank stud.  He will always remember how to tease a mare but I can't answer about being rank because he never was.  I can tell you, I sure am not happy about cutting him but I am not breeding to outside mares anymore unless it is someone I know and if they are willing to pasture breed.

Yeah I sure am still not happy about cutting Trav, but you're right, it was more of a hassle, even if it WASNT our horse that was the cause of the problem.  My concerns were taking  my wonderfully well behaved stud to a show, having him tied properly, and having someone ELSE'S horse (mare, gelding, etc) get lose or go crazy and cause a fight.  I mean, horses kick, bite, rear, etc.  they're HORSES... but just because you own a stud you're all of a sudden a trouble maker.  Kind of like owning a pitt bull.   Wonderful dogs but you're screwed from the start.

I just know that Trav was the epitome of a puppy-dog horse until he was gelded.  Now he lays his ears at me among other things (puffing and dancing for 'his' mares and other horses, squeels and fights with other horses) but at least I can turn him out with something and let him learn his lesson!!  Under it all, he still is my Big Man.

Ziggy is acting more depressed than anything else.  Sure hope I haven't ruined my boy.

Sorry I won't be able to make it to the big day you are planning.  PM me with anything you need or want for a gift

Hi everyone hows it going?  Ziggy lost his two best friends.  (as far as he was concerned)  It will be interesting to see how he ajusts.  I think I have a trav I did not know Buddy as a stud I know he was bred a few times.  I know as a gelding he loves to talk to the ladies and try to be the man.  He has attitude and acts up around new horses.  So if thats acting like a stud he seems to do that.  Between that and jumping bop everytime she is in heat I think he has a good memory.
