OMG Shannon!  They are gonna make me pull out "the big guns" and they are NOT gonna like what I have for them.  I will need a brown paper bag, lighter, and a shit the size of an elephant!

Wave the white flag, give the horse back.  It's not worth it.  Hopefully though once you give the horse back they will stop harrassing you.

You know between the golden retriever and the rottie I CAN provide a shit like that...

I made my plan last night. I need a "middle party" to walk the horse over to them. I'm going to insist it be one of the two women who run the horse rescue here in the county. That way I can explain what Dallas needs done, THEY can explain it to these asses. And they can also see the living conditions of their horses. They've really gotten things rolling as far as equine abuse cases around here and getting animal control to do something about it so I think it's a pretty good plan for all the 4-leggers involved.

Wow we are talkin some serious pooooooop......

I agree make sure the "rescue"  people see what the horse is being turned over to.  I will tell u up here that would not fly.  The animal control people would have a field day with these people.

Horse abuse down here has always been kind of blown off until early this spring. A guy starved a colt to death & one of the newspaper writers made a 3 part series about it and how often it occurs, it's always been a dirty little secret, you know? Everyone knows but nobody talks about or God forbid DOES anything about it. Anyway that got the ball rolling & a rescue strictly for horses got set up. Animal control itself down here is kind of a joke. Only 2 guys for the WHOLE county if you can imagine. Pretty sad when you figure we're one of the bigger counties in the state.

On a lighter note, would you believe little 12 pound WD whooped a 55 pound rottweiler pup tonight? Had him pinned and down by the throat! Seems WD got jealous of George petting Hank (the rott) and decided to show him who runs this place. Poor Hank then tried to hide under the couch and got his big butt stuck LOL.

Animal control around here goes to the other extreme they tend to over react sometimes.  For the most part they stay on top of everyone real well.

Good day to marebear.  Hope your have n fun.

Do you have a Rottie Shannon?

Hi Marebear!

Sadly, yes. He was NOT supposed to stay, it was supposed to temporary. Some friends of a friend had a litter of Rottie pups & had trouble selling them. (I think because they're trying to pass a town ordinance banning certain dogs- pits, rotts, etc)
Anyway they finally got down to two pups, my friend took one & the last one was going to the pound. Our pound only keeps dogs for 7 days before they put them down and well, he was so damn cute! I brought him home thinking surely we could find somebody wanting one...well you know how THAT goes, once they move in and get a name that's it.

I knew as soon as George named him I was screwed. His name is Hank, we've had him a month so he's 4 months old now. His daddy was the biggest Rottweiler I've ever seen and Hank's definitely following in his pawprints. And he eats like a horse LOL!
He's a sweet dog although not the sharpest crayon in the box. He's finally caught on to housebreaking- 3 days so far with no inside incidents- YAY!!!! The WeinerDog bosses him up terribly which is kinda sad to see.

So we're at 4 dogs right now: WD & Bonnie, the wieners; Levi the Golden Retriever and Hank.

Aw Shannon!  A rottie!  They are sweet dogs!  We have 2!  They are our trail riding dogs!  They need a firm, but gental hand and arn't as bad as what everyone thinks.  I will tell you they will go through 2 puppy stages.  Once you think you have it licked, bam back to the puppy stage!  I have picked up many bags of trash no thanks to Ruger. Roll Eyes  Molly is my girl though, she thinks she is a lab and loves the water.  She sounds alittle like Hank (not the brightest crayon), but is a big old baby!  They say the females tend to be more vocal (as far as barking) than the males and in our case that has proven to be true.  I would love to see some pictures of him! Thanks Ramsey! Hopefully I'll have an update on Wed., have a meeting w/the officer in charge then.

Wild, I've been around a lot of Rotts and the ones I've known have always been darn good dogs. Hank's not a barker but he "talks" to me a lot- groans, warbles, it's very odd. He's my buddy which WD does not like at all LOL. Right now we're working on chewing. I've got a big thick rope for him & have to redirect his attention to that from chair legs, etc. And the fact that he likes to chew on my hand when I pet him!

Here's a pic from when we first got him:
