Okay, my brother in laws running quarter mare is baggin nicely, she is due March 14th and my TB mare is starting to bag, she is due the 15th.  She is having her first foal and I got her bought because the other people could not get her to carry a foal.  I have 3 mares due in April, 2 of them are first timers and 2 due in May, one of which is a newbie too.  Sometimes I hate mares.  LOL  I can't wait for the babies to come  clap2

when I was younger I would bounce, now I just splat

Yeah!  A foal watch!  We need to get Ramsey on here too!  I love babies!  They are so cute when they are born!  Don't for get to take baby pictures for us Val!  How many babies does Ziggy have hitting the ground this year?

I am only going to have 3 of Ziggys babies because I sold Miss Piggy.  I haven't heard if any of the mares that I bred for other people are in foal or not.  I Have 2 contracts back on him for this coming year and 1 on Sun Tzu.  I have given out a lot of contracts on the TB because the vet has so many people looking at him for the warmblood people and there are a lot of people with race horses asking for contracts.  I sent out about 5 contracts for Ziggy but like I said I only have 2 back in and I won't breed him to more than 10 mares total a year anyway.  I don't want a lot of foals by him out there running around, prefer for people to have to buy them from me.  I am going to breed him to 3 quarter mares of mine and 1 TB mare, plus the 2 contracts I have that only leaves me 4 more bookings anyway

Sounds good!  Ziggy is a really nice guy!  Very handsome!  I am still torn on weather or not to breed my mare this year.  With the Chillie thing I think I might take a whole year off from the baby thing.  Just put a bad tast in my mouth, ya know?  Guess I get too attached!

Anyway do you have any updates for us?

Oh how is the filly doing that you kept back?  Fran?

Fran is a pain in the butt.  She is just like Ziggy was as a yearling but boy is she built.  I may show her in halter in the foundation shows next year as a 2 yr old.  Too smart for her own good too.  She is a typical Ziggy, well at least to me she is.

It is up to you weather or not you breed your mare.  I don't push anyone on that type of thing.  You have to do what is best for you.  And, I do understand how you feel about things because I have years like that.

Fran was too cute for her own good last year!  I bet she is turning into a real beauty!  Did you ever get the pictures from Dena?  She said she mailed you some of the colts this winter.

Just thot I'd update y'all .... been uber busy and haven't been on much.  So far, Piggy has had a small to med sized bag for about a week now, but no waxing or dialating.  Val, I thought you said she was due yesterday (15th)?  I've got a sharp eye on her, but no real signs of foaling seem to be iminant....

Miss Piggy was due on the f15th, she is always within a couple days either way.  She is not a big milker and gives no signs of foaling like they tell you to look for.  I hope that you remembered to vaccinate her 30 days ago for West Nile and EWTF otherwise she will not be able to pass any immunity on to her foal.  You will go out someday and just find her foal, that is the way she is.
