we have wild hogs down here and they are MEAN!!!!!!!
scare the beejeezibies out of the horses too, and what a mess they make when they root!!!

Why is that? Undecided I can remember when I was a kid and had my horse at the end of a lane that had a few hogs/pigs by there, when the pigs would get loose we would go try to round them up and the horses hated it.  They did not want to go any where near those pigs. We made them, but boy did the horses get upset.
Also. (for the city girl in me) what in the world is the differnce between a hog and a pig? Size or weight? Huh

honestly i think it is the smell of the pig, not that they are dirty, but just the odor of a feral hog...i know that {this was on national geographic..lol} if a domestic pig/hog escapes, within weeks it begins to revert to feral.... tusks grow, hair lengthens and the snout lengthens as well,

The special I saw on TV said that those wild hogs are all over the world and are a real problem.  I know when I lived in Florida they had a bunch of them and down in Texas by my aunts there are a lot of them.   She didn't say if they bothered her horses or not.  We ate one down there when we had a bar b que, tasted gamey but then all wild stuff has that taste.  When you throw some beer over it and cover it with sauce you can stand it.  Heck for that matter you when you have enough beer it doesn't taste bad at all :rotf:

Half way between Ocala and Reddick.  Not far from the prison.  I moved back to Indiana about 22 years ago.  I could  never move back because of the heat and humidity.  I just cannot deal well with that anymore.  I am about ready for Montana or something.

i am about 1 hour or so from ocala. just straight up 75!
thehumidity is awful down here, heat index today is 105 plus..yuck!!

Heat index here today is 113. Real temp is right around 96/97. Feels like the humidity is about the same too. Too hot for man ner beast today. Even my truck did not want to keep running. Shocked

we are going to be in lows 90's all week, and rain.
i am going to have to mow sometime soon, the grass is knee deep! Shocked
but oh well,  Grin hubby wont let me near the mower anytime soon, i made it have a flat and ran over the garden hose all in the same day... :rotf:

LMAO I am the same way!  I always used to get slack for not mowing (like I don't do enough around here anyhow, but that's another issue  Roll Eyes lol) so one day I took it upon myself to mow.  His stupid 1930's mower blew up on me (I forgot to add oil to it he says, like I don't do enough he can't keep the damn thing oiled and greased and ready for me to use??) so when I mowed, I ended up blowing the motor on the damn thing.  LOL!!!  No more mowing for me!   Grin

I read in the Paint Horse Jornel about a Crocidlie comming in to someones barn in FL.  Did you read about that Jettin?  Anything like that ever happen to you, or your friends?

The heat is killing me!  I have not rode in almost 2 weeks! Shocked  Not very good, when I'm trying to get my horse trained! Roll Eyes  At 7:30 this am I was sweating just watering the horses and dogs! Undecided  Poor dogs and horses!
