Well, today I have to finish up loading the trailer and getting everything ready for the weekend (Laundry, go get some feed and clean all the litter boxes Roll Eyes). Maybe while I am up at Vals I can give everyone a progress report on how we are doing. If not then I will try to fill everyone in when I get back Monday. I hope to have a great weekend and to stay as dry as possable. I am a little nevous and am sure I will for get something but I am really geared up. If nothing else I will get to see Junior and visit with Val so that will be a good thing reardless of how we do. I think Dasher is about ready and all I have to do is stay on and not get in her way. Maybe Val will get to ride something too. Wink
Type at everyone later. wave

Ok everybody, we are home. (I have been home for awhile just too busy to jump on and post.) Cheesy
I am going to just give highlites since I am real worn out!!! Huh
Had a pretty good weekend. Not as good as I would like to have had but not bad either (until the way home. Will explaine more later) Made a good run (second one) and a not so good run (first one) but was very please with our progress. The second run was better then the first. Dasher gave me three real good turns and I bettered my time by almost a full second. Not to mention I looked real good doing it (I have pictures to prove it too Grin) Learned a little bit more about how to ride Dasher and may have corrected one of our problems.
To be continued... (but now I have GOT to sleep!!! wave

This is going to be another one of her "stories", I can tell.  She left at like 5:30 so she should have been home way earlier than she did.

She did much better at state than she acts like too.  The difference between her first exhibition time and her last run in the second go was like about 3 seconds.  I think she showed improvement every time she ran.  Her last run actually was a very nice smooth run like you want to see in a horse that isn't seasoned.  If they continue to make runs like that then she will be able to progress to asking for a little more speed with it as they go.  She done good and wasn't that far out of it anyway.  The mare is going to really make her a good one as long as she can remember not to be in a big hurry and ask her for to much run to soon.

I borrowed a horse for one of my senior runs (let Horse Happy tell you about that one), I would have borrowed her mare if she was a seasoned horse and I thought riders with different styles would not hurt her more than help her.  At any rate I scratched my second go and am very very tired today.  More like wore out.

Horse Happy is worn out mostly from having to travel with me.  I have to be there a lot and on Friday we only were able to get 2 hours sleep!  She went and took a wee little nap on Saturday but I don't think it helped to much.  We did do better and got to sleep for 4 hours on Saturday night.  YaHoooo   bounce

My feet hurt and are not going to recover, my hubby did not clean any stalls but at least he did not complain and yell at me like she does every year before.  I don't know how long it will take for me to recover.  I still have to go through a bunch of stuff for the garage sale items that were sold.  I have 2 horse shows to process the points for and all the stuff here to catch up on.  Somebody cleaned their stall and left manure all over the barn aisle.   Roll Eyes  I have like a mountain of dirty laundry, did not get to ride any of my horses, have like lakes of mud to wade through from the 3-5 inches of rain we must have gotten over the weekend, sent my colt home with Keith, my friend sent one home with Tim Oxby.

Okay so now I am going outside to do the morning feeding before coming back in and cleaning up to go to work.  I hope I remember how to do all that stuff again.  dontknow

Will Post more later, can't wait to hear about Horse Happys trip home.

when I was younger I would bounce, now I just splat

Glad to hear you and Dasher are progressing!  I think alot of us tend to be harder on our self than what other people see (if that makes sence!).

Gosh Val, it's great comming home from a long weekend!  Roll Eyes I totally feel for you!  We are on the go so much comming home is nice but I normaly spent the next week catching up! Roll Eyes  The stalls are the worst!  I try to keep up on mine, but then when I get home it's like a mountin of poop!!!!!!  We were gone all weekend ourselfs, I think someone came in to my house and distoryed it! Grin  I need to teach my cats how to clean!

I got home about 9:00 pm so it is not like Dasher and I walked home from anywhere.  Grin Just have to take the trailer back into the shop, again Angry.  I was very glad to get home (and so was Dasher!!!)

Awwh, Thanks Val. Embarrassed and considering the announcer was calling her to run by saying  and here is that "mean ol Valerie Snyider" Evil (hehe) words of enouragement and praise mean allot!!!  Grin

Folks, trust me when I tell you she is lying when she says "I'm too old to do stuff like that".  Once she gets set on doing something, just try to keep up with her! Shocked  Bring your running shoes and plenty of energy food!!! Grin

my hubby did not clean any stalls..... Somebody cleaned their stall and left manure all over the barn aisle.

Really? Who? Tongue Juniors stall got cleaned and it took the entire dump cart to do it. I think Gary almost felt a small bit of guilt as he stood by the fans while I toiled away cleaning the stall. (not to mention finishing the haying and watering the horses for him, while Gary was hiding in the house out of the rain) Tongue

my friend sent one home with Tim Oxby.

That should be interesting Shocked

I am going to get a few more things done then I will come back and post more. That way if anyone is interested, they will be able to keep up with our progress. Wink

Well let me tell you about my reaction to the barn when I went out to feed this morning  cussing   I mean he did not even clean his horses stall and only one of them is his. bs  He must have figured I would be mad because when I got home tonight he was cleaning his stall but he has left it for me to bed and stuff.

I am glad that Horse Happy cleaned her stall out.  Only makes about 4 or 5 to catch up on.  They will all need stripped so it is going to take a little bit to get done.   :mooner1:

Anyway; Horse Happy did much better than she thought she would.  She is way to hard on herself.  Never get in a hurry with one and keep your horses as light in the mouth as you can and you will be ahead of the game in the long run.  I don't think I am ever going to wake up again.  My feet are going to hurt for the rest of my life.  By the way the new stirrups of horse happy's made her feet happy.   Grin

I am way to old to be doing this.   dontknow

I know better!!! Grin You got everything done yesterday and still got up and went to work today. I was barley able to remember my name this morning. Roll Eyes
You guys should have seen Val this weekend. Working the entry booth, the garage sale, the arena, the gate, having to field questions and any gripes, getting the vendors into thier places, taking in someones horse who had no where else to go, feeding her own horses, taking care of me and Gary, and riding in one of the short go's in senior on a horse that may have been automatic on the run but sure needed manual overdrive to get her in the arena. All this on only a couple of hours of sleep. I was able to sneek off to my truck and take a few naps, she was on the go all the time. It got to the point that if I wanted to know where Val was I would sit in one place knowing she would be breezing by sooner or later. Grin No wonder her feet hurt. She might as well of run the Boston Marathon!!!

I would have kicked him!  Men they can't do anything with out us ladies!  I left for 2 weeks last Nov. and I told hubby that he atleast had to clean them 4 times while I was gone.  I only think he did it twice.  But we only have 4 stalls!  Striping all of yours would SUCK!  I think I would not do his laundry for a while!  See how he likes it! Tongue

Don't do his laundry good idea.   Wink  He would just go buy more.  He doesn't do dishes either, had to do them every morning before we left the house.

Next year I am riding come heck or high water on a horse of mine that I know what is going to happen with.

I don't heal well and am way to old and broken up to be riding a horse that I have to have help getting on and off of  Shocked  I mean the pattern was the easy part.  I must be nuts and I know that horse thinks I am.

Well my body says I am old (think i have hit the dirt one to many times in my younger days).  At any rate sometimes I think I should have kept one or 2 or my favorite horses from the past and forgot all this colt stuff and raising babies stuff and just enjoyed riding.

I had a mare that I have regretted selling ever since I sold her but if she was here I really never would have ridden any colts again (might have been a good thing) and as much as I dislike geldings I did have a Duck Dance gelding that I have regretted selling.  He was hard to qualify on but he drew a check everytime I did get him qualified.  It broke my heart to see him after I sold him and he went over the hill  shortly after.   Gary is right I get way to attached to these old hides.

Thanks for telling me I don't look old but then you have never seen me without the Miss Clariol  Evil
