Well the show was OK.  It took 4 hours just to run in two events, so I left after Pole Bending.  It was hot and Solomon was getting cranky so he would only trot through the poles.  He looked like a dressage horse.  confused4

Anyway! We didnt win anything, but we had fun. Here are some pictures.

Dressage Horse!

Again...

UGH

Here is a good closeup of Solomons Maple leaf.

My aunt took this picture but i think it was a mistake, but its awesome!

If it was just three turns and home, everyone could do it!

Great pictures Maine. I wish I had someone there to take pictures of my runs. camera I would be happy if I had someone there just to watch me run. cry There is a girl who I have made friends with who watches and coaches me to look up though. She is the barn manager for a guy I know in Ky. It is nice to have someone to talk too after you run. Dasher did better yesterday. She made a clean pattern and gave me 3 somewhat good turns. It was sloppier then what she normally does but she still did not want to work for me yesterday. She was like riding a pleasure horse all day yesterday. Except when I practice her on the pattern. I don't do that too much but she does seem to do better if I practice her before I run her. She is going to get a (well deserved) few days off and I have to get her reset before I run her again. I changed bitw with her yesterday so that is why she finished the turns. I guess she is just going to be one of those horses you ride at hime in one bit and run in another. No big deal. I don't have another NBHA show until September so maybe by then she will have gotten use to Junior being home and gotten rested up and then she will want to run a bit better. Not to mention, next time I will be carring a encouregment stick the next time.  wink

Oregon? Wow. You could not only be our west coast buddy, but our almost Cananda/us boarder buddy too. clap2
Tell us about Buddy.
Maine has doen a great job with Solomon and her other horse Blue as well. She took them after they had been forgotten and gave them a new lease on life. clap2
I love Solomon's Maple leaf. Blue is really beautiful too.

wave1 Thank you HH.  bigblush they are my boys. I am so proud of Solomons progress this year.  He isnt fast, and probably never will be extremely fast, but I think he enjoys doing this and I have fun with him.

As for Blue, he is just a big goober.tongue8 What an amazing animal he is, I wish he could talk.  I love that boy.  Thank you again HH, and everyone for the comments on the pictures.  They make us look like we were going faster than we really were! outtahere

I saw the pics of Blue when you got her wow you did a wonderful thing.  Buddy, my horse,  is a regestered Appaloosa gelding.  (you can read about him in the breeding shed he is a naughty boy)  I got him 2 years ago when he was 7.  He had never been saddled or messed with much the lady that had him gave him away.
He has a funky ear thing.  The lady who gave him away said he has extra ear ducts or Sarcoid tumors.  Well I had a vet take a look at him and the actual answer will blow most peoples minds.  He has teeth in his ears.  One at the base of each ear.  They cause inflamation and on one ear its caused a cyst about the size of my thumb.  The vet says that he is in no pain from them so I haven't gotten it fixed.  Oregon State vet school wants about $2000.00 to fix them.
I started training him on barrels about a month ago. He is totally built to run and do gaming events.  He is doing really well so far.  Back in the 80's when I was a High School kid I barrel racing on a Arabian so this is so much fun again.

Well enough about Buddy......I love all the pictures and stories you all put on here your horses are great and you are all very nice.  Talk to you soon. smile
