I would like to know how everybody feels about this website.  There are a ton of visitors and hits to the site, and new members sign up every day, but there are few new posts or additions to the site and I don't understand why.  Please let me know here what features or options you like on other websites versus being here so that maybe we can change the participation level here!  Should I host more contests?  Any other ideas?  Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Thanks!

Ramsey

I of course love this site. I enjoy poking around. I have not started to participate in forums only cause I am TOO BUSY WITH MY MARE! hehe but I think it is great, I wish more people would participate in the chat room so that we can all talk and share ideas, training tips, and brag about our babies!

I really like some of the features this sight has compared to others (like the spell check) and enjoy the fact there is no major arguing like on the others. As far as the chats go, I really enjoy those too but we have to come up with a time that works for most of us.  I like the e-mails as reminders. Maybe you could hold them and have a "chat topic" and maybe Ramsey could see if she could get a "guest"? After that (like the next day or so) ask for a the opinions as to how the chat went. (did you like what the guest had to say...ect.) Maybe have a weekly brag post so everyone can tell how they did that weekend. Just some ideas.

Thanks Laura,

That is exactly the kind of post I was looking for.  I want to know what YOU (and EVERYONE ELSE) would like to see.  I can't promise I can do them, but will definately try!  I'm up against some tough competition (the other 2 boards) so am trying to do anything and everything to make sure they don't "shut us down".

Thanks again!

Ramsey

Your welcome. [grin]

Hey another idea. For those of us who don't have speakers is there anyway you could have somekind of notification (visual) telling us if there is anyone in the chat room?

I think this site is great! You have done an amazing job putting it together.  There seem to be a lot of people who just lurk and read, but thats ok!  We can bring them out, just have to post the right topics!

Do you have a link at Barrelhorses.com? I put one there and the majority of my website hits come from there.

If it was just three turns and home, everyone could do it!

Thanks!  Yeah I have a link on BH.com ...  I have a lot of links to a lot of places, and do get alot of hits, and alot of people join the site.  I'd say on average, there's about 5-10 new members sign up every day.  However, none of them post!  That's what we're trying to get them to do...  The Forums is what keeps people at the site.  I have all the features that other sites have right here for FREE but nobody bothers to stick around.  Average visit to the site is 0-30 seconds.  I'd like to make that longer.
