Get your colt broke and take him.  There is safety in numbers sometimes.  I should really take my 2 yr old instead of the old gelding but I do so like to enjoy myself sometimes.  It may do your horse some good.  My old hot barrel mare was like the energizer bunny on trails, had to stay in the lead but she could outlast the gaited horses.  Can you imagine that?  Goofy old mare.  The girl that has her in Texas loves to go on her and claims that she has calmed way down.  A little I can believe but way down?  It must be the heat in west Texas.

Maybe for next year he's only a yearling (15 months old now)I do plan to start saddling him this fall but as bad as I want to NO riding yet.

How are the trails there my horse is not a trail horse the only trail riding we do is back thru our woods.
But might do him alot of good maybe chill some of his hot behavior. You guys just might have to pick me up a time or two if he gets to rowdy.

You won't be the grandma of the bunch or should I say the ONLY one I have a 2 year old grandaughter.

Trust me I am not into really rugged trails although I don't back down from them either.  My old hot mare was the best at those and they took the wind out of her sails pretty quick.  I am sure we could get into some up and down but for the most part I do a lot of walking/jigging depending on what I am riding.  Sounds like this could be fun.  Might me more fun wihtout the men.  My hauling buddy is thinking of going but it is hard to get her husband to come, horses are not his thing.  Claims he just pays for them.  LOL  Anyway another one of us grandma's wants to come but her husband is so sick I doubt she would be able to come.  [wink]

Well you do have Dasher and Junior and Donner and Blitzen

No, just a Comet and Dasher, Junior and Sissy. I guess you could call Sissy a Vixen or Blitzen. If Santa stops by, then we are all set. Ho, Ho, Ho. [grin]

Well all we need is Rudolph and we are all set.  This could work out to be a really fun ride.  Be good for the old horses too, get them away from the arena a little bit and find out that there are things a whole lot worse than running barrels

My boy is only 3, so I'll be on a youngin'. That is why I'd like to wait until a little later to go, because he needs a few more miles. Theresa one the first page is a link to the ranch, prices are on there. Have we decided on a date?[wink]

Also, why are you selling your beauty Theresa?

As far as Smoke Rise goes, I have an email out to them, but haven't heard back.  If I don't hear from them by next week I will call them...

I may or may not have an extra horse for someone to ride -- if they can ride (my old mare is a bit nutty at times)...

I will tell him you said that.[grin]
Had a friend of mine over today and her three year old daughter had a pony ride on him too. Was not sure about her little yapping Boston terrier but was still a good boy. (he would just stop and stare towards the dog) Only three years old and already a charmer with the girls.[cool]
