blob10  YAY- a new person!!!!!!  blob10  Welcome to RH from the lone non-barrel person on here LOL. Don't know where Val & Wild are hiding, probably ate too much Thanksgiving food & are recovering.  Shocked

It was just a one day sickness.  I wonder if it was something I ate.

O do tell how you found out you may have a future barrel racer on your hands!!

Welcome newbie.

Sorry to hear that you were sick wild.  I didn't eat that much turkey, don't like turkey

I was going to ride a little over the week I was off but my filly (the one I have been trying to start all year) blew an abcess in her right hind, I just told her to go ahead and blow one in the left hind and that will make all 4 feet.  I have been off her more this year for stupid things than any thing else.

On another note.  Got Bossy back from being broke, she is a natural for cattle, rides real good but a little hard headed which I am going to blame on the Rene Dan Jet in her.  Hope to haul her next summer to see the sights but really don't want to start her on the pattern as a 3 year old since I am not into futurities.

Wild are you doing any riding yet since the baby?

Shannon did you find yourself a horse?

Where the heck is Rams?

when I was younger I would bounce, now I just splat

I got to ride Fran!  I think I told you gals that I traded one of my puppies for 30 day on her with a friend (she trains full time).  I rode her about 2 weeks ago!  She did great for just having 30 days on her!  The girl that has her says she is one of the smartest- most stubborn horse she has had in a long time, lol!  I got to walk, trot and canter her.  Boy can she cover some ground!  My friend trains mostly WP horses and she said she would love her front legs cause she is so flat legged!  She was smooth to ride, just diffrent for me having such a long strided horse!  I can't wait to get her on the trails and then start her on the pattern!  It felt great to ride her, she was so relaxed! Grin

Do you have any pictures of Bossy?  I would love to see her!  Sorry about your other filly that always sucks.  Undecided

Ramsey is around, not sure how much she checks in here.  She has her hands full with her older kid and the baby.  The baby has been colicy and has reflux.  Wed Ramsey got her tubes tied, so no more babies for her!!!  I talked to her Thursday and she was recovering from that.  I know she has been working both Pigs and Kippy, and has even riden Piggy a few times.

Glad to hear that you got to ride Fran.  I don't have any pictures of Bossy but I will take some and e-mail them to you.  She really rides good.  The Sun Frost line doesn't like to be told what to do but they like to be asked and they will do anything for you.  All of Shot's babies and grandbabies are flat kneed and long strided.  Shot had a stride on her too but it was easy to collect her and change her stride but I don't like a fake look.

It is good to hear that Rams is working with her horses.  Both should make her good ones if she puts some time on them.  Kids change your life style a lot.  Tying of the tubes is a good way to go for her.  Way cheaper in this day and age than raising more kids, LOL   Grin

Val, the guys got me a new horse for my birthday. 16yo AQHA mare, a hair over 15h, palomino with a few bay spots on her, DNA tested, HYPP N/N. Registered as "Countess Baronet" but we call her Shea.

Here's the link to her pedigree:  http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/countess+baronet

She's trained better than any horse we've ever had here. I really have to watch myself, she works off leg cues at a touch and you have to be easy on the reins. All the horses we've had before were kick-kick-kick to get 'em to move & plow reiners- can't do that with her LOL! I was going to try doing western pleasure on her at some of the little local things but I'm finding out she can seriously run...she's loving having the big pasture for turnout, sometimes she'll run just because. I thought Snowman was fast, she leaves him eating her dust.

Hey glad to hear you got a new horse.  You should have fun riding now.  I know a lot of really good pleasure horses that will run like that when turned out but they don't act like that at all on their backs.  You should go to some local stuff and have fun with it.  How is George doing?

Shot is still hangin out up at my parents, living the pampered life!  Her turn out buddy is Wades mini horse.  Mom says they look adorable out there together!  Shot loves just about any horse, big or small!

Shannon- we need to find a place half way between us to ride! Grin
