clap2  Yeah you are back.  TBB was on here last week, sometimes Wild checks in and Horsehappy doesn't have internet at home.  Rams had a baby and Wild is due in October, TBB works all the time but I hope she starts checking in on a regular basis.  What is new with you?  I have been worried sick about you, long time no hear.  How are the kids and the hubby?  We moved to SE Kansas on December 28th.  The longer I live here the more I like it.  HorseHappy came out for a visit around the 4th of July and she is wanting to move out here too.  She is working and planning on putting her place up for sale this coming spring and making the move out here.  You and George come for a visit anytime you want.  Peaceful out here and property is like so cheap.  Jobs don't pay real great, unless you are a welder or something like that but truck driving pays the same as back home.  Lots of small jobs out here, Amazon.com warehouse hires all the time, starts at around 11.20 an hour.  Local Casey's are always looking for help.  Come for a visit and fall in love with the area.  Tell me everything you have been doing for the last year.  You about worried me to death.  Glad to have someone to talk to on here now.  clap2

Okay, let's see first update, my new email address is luv_my_little_weenies @ yahoo so you can holler at me anytime!

So what else? George got sick again after his damn company cancelled their medical coverage. He got better but his lungs are getting worse & worse...honestly I don't think he'll be around to see Jeremy graduate high school. He got back to work but his hours kept dropping and dropping. The company he was with went from a fleet of 150+ trucks down to like 25. He finally found a company willing to hire him despite his age (58) and health so he's now running for Summitt Trucking out of Indiana. Great company, his benefits kicks in the first week of November  (health, life, etc) but he's back to over-the-road driving which is hard on him being out 7-10 days at a time. Right now he's down in Texas hauling FEMA relief to the hurricane victims.
My daughter Cathy finally got her act together and has straightened herself out. Has a nice little apartment and is back in college working on her RN degree. She's going to have a baby, a girl, due date is Nov. 1st. I think the baby coming is what got her straight. I told her I don't mind being a gramma but I was NOT going to raise it for her like so many of the people around here do. So she stepped up to the plate as the saying goes.
Jeremy is doing great. A sophomore this year, doing good in school and still playing football. He's now standing 6ft3 and according to the doctor has another inch or so to grow. Wearing a 14.5 shoe, how scary is that?!
As for me I'm not working, only one vehicle & not knowing when George'll be in town & needing to be picked up makes it kind of hard to work. So I'm the one who runs the boys from football practice & stuff, the other parents give me gas money so it works pretty well. Been working around the place all summer & it's helped me drop around 30 pounds plus gave me a nice tan LOL. Between the new hip & the weight loss riding is a heck of a lot easier on me, I can actually mount and dismount without help now, yay!
Critters are fine, got a new speed bump. Kept her out of the last litter because she had a hernia. She's fine now but is the DUMBEST dog I've ever met...good thing she's cute.

Yeah, on the weight loss.  Sorry to hear about George's lungs getting worse.  Boy still in school is a good thing.  Daughter in nursing school is a good thing too.  Hope you are ready to babysit since she will need help.  Grandma thing is ok, ruin the kids then send them home  Shocked  You still have speed bumps?  How many do you have now?  My new email since moving is loli94@hotmail.com  send me an e-mail.  I have to go to work early this morning so I usually either check in on computer late at night or very early in the morning since I am on days now.  Do you still get on the dreamhorse forum?  I go on there once in a while also.

We have 4 full blooded bumps and one min pin/bump mix...3 too many some days LOL! I'm kind of looking forward to gramma-hood & George, oh my gosh, he can't walk past the baby section at Walmart without stopping to look at stuff.
As far as George's lungs, we knew it would happen when he was diagnosed. And actually he's done better than the doctors expected. They had said by now he'd be on oxygen 24/7 and he's not that bad yet thank God. He just has to be real careful about pneumonia & lung infections. I'm on here at random times, tonight George & my friend Mike have been radioing me for directions so I'm up late. And with Jeremy out of school this week cause of the hurricane he's been hogging it. Haven't been back on DH forums yet, I'll probably get back on there eventually, is it still full of drama?

Oh yes, dream horse forums are still full of drama.  Cannot believe some of it.  I do go on there about once a week or more.  This board has slowed way down because of all the babies.  Did you guys get a lot of rain from the hurricane?  We hardly got any out of that deal, more because of the cold front that came from the north.  It has been in the upper 40's at night and cooled off to the upper 70's during the day which is still about 5-10 degrees cooler for us.  Do you have any horses left at all?

No rain but bad winds, gusts up to 75mph. We're lucky- our power was only out for about 10 hours & only damage to our place was 3 trees down in the back & part of the gutters and some shingles tore off. They're saying in the tri-county area it could be up to two weeks before everyone gets their power back. I think at one point almost 500,000 were without electricity. Schools in Meade county are closed through at least Thursday because Brandenburg got hit so hard & Louisville is REALLY bad.
We've just got two horses now, Summer & Snowman. She's lame right now until her hoof grows out & he's old enough that I don't like to ride him too much. Which sucks now that riding isn't a pain issue and we got a trailer so I could be riding new places LOL. So I've been going down and riding Mike's mustang for him...LOVE him, well-trained & way fast but Mike'll never sell him.
George is making noises about getting me another one that his friend has for sale (he actually has two he wants to sell) and I keep telling him I'm not interested. They're both thoroughbreds and both flakey- haven't been worked near as much as they should & I'm not experienced enough to take a chance...I just don't like either one. As cheap are horses are going out here I'm sure if I actually looked I could find one I liked better. I did find a nice Skipper W mare bred to Skippa Sweet Star for $900, pretty little buckskin but really not interested in having a foal around, you know?

WOW!  I missed alot!  I try to check in here about everyother week!  I have been horrible about checking in because not riding this summer has me depressed, lol!  Nothing horse related to talk about, I feed them, look at them, pet them and thats it!  Oh well soon enough!  Grin

Shannon- it's been great catching up on whats going on with you!  I am sorry to hear about Georges lungs, but that is great that he is doing better then expected.  WTG for Cathy getting her act together.  Is she still engaged or did she get married??  My mom is also overly excited about her new grandchild, due October 4th, but I'm hoping anyday.  They tell us it's alittle boy, which I am SUPER DUPER pumped about!  I'm better at playing trucks and army men then barbies and hair, lmao!  Does Cathy have any names picked out?  Nov 1st will be here before you know it!!  Sounds like Jeremy is a big boy!  Think he will earn a scholorship for his football?  Congrats to you on loosing some weight!  Thats awesome! clap2

We had about 74 MPH winds around us.  We were lucky also and only lost power from Sunday about 2pm thru Monday 8AM.  There are still people here who don't have power and schools not in session.  Luckly for everyone it's not steaming hot or freezing cold.  We lost a lot of branches, a tree on our fence and several branches/ trees out in the pasture.  I heard on the radio this AM that people were at Duke Energy complaning and they had to call the police in!  That is so sad, those guys are working and doing the best they can!  Some people IMO don't relise how lucky they really are!

Horsehappy told me they had damage from winds too.  I cannot believe it.  You guys live way to far from that thing to have all that damage.  Rams and you better start checking in more often.  Quit being depressed, you will be able to ride again.  I am so happy to see Shannon and TBB back on the boards again.   blob10

I know I'm glad to see a lil action back on here again!  I hate these stupid prego hormones!  I prefer being a happy person!  I know I'm hoping "the lady" heals up fast so I can ride.  At least for 15 min or so when Matt gets home in the evening.  I need some theraphy, lol!

It is crazy that we got all those winds and dameage being so far from the coast.

Honey just remember those hormones when you go through the change.  You are just hitting the tip of the ice berg and then you go about 10 years of them.  I hear you about riding, I got moved to days and still haven't ridden, my body is trying to adjust to getting up at 6 in the morning but I am thinking this weekend would be good.  I am going to get some pictures around the property and post on here to try to entice some of my buddies to come for a visit.  GIANT HINT

The change SUX, I've been having random hot flashes for 2 years..."power surges" my backside! Not to mention the chin hairs, gaaaaahhhh.
Anyway, to answer your questions Wild. Not the ex-fiancee, she dumped him & took up with a new guy. I'm not crazy about him for a long list of reasons but at least he stuck around after the baby news. So I am nice to him at least. Right now the name is supposed to be Mackenzie Elizabeth...I told 'em they CANNOT call her Mack LOL. I'm thankful it's not a boy, the boyfriend was pushing for the name Ezekiel if it was. Ummmm, no.
I'd love it if Jeremy got a football scholarship, he's planning on getting an engineering degree in college & that's gonna be $$$. I think *maybe* one of the smaller schools like Campbellsville might be interested by the time he's a senior- they give our boys a lot of scholarships & he could get all his basics there. But we'll have to wait & see.
George got back home yesterday. The worker's comp insurance company is seriously on the ball. They're setting him up to see an ortho & someone for his liver/kidneys by Tues. at the latest. And they seriously went off on the company for hauling him home via semi when he'd been preapproved to be flown home. He's banged up so bad & can barely walk and of course being bitchy about having to be helped to get around...oh well, he'll get over it or else!

That is so cool about your baby! Have you picked out a name? I'm having a brain fart, is this one your first?

LOL Val, are you wanting company?! We may have to make a RH road trip next spring!
