If you guys have any questions regarding the layout and procedure of things as far as the forum goes, just let me know!  IM me or just holler at me here, and I'll try to help you out as much as possible.  I'm also looking into fixing a couple of things ASAP regarding the site.  One is the forum and profile images - they are 'squashed', and I should have that fixed soon.  The other is the color of the background for the forum display.  I know alot of you have nice sigs you've made up, and I'll try to see if I can't have the color of the backgrounds in here (at least for the forum posts) set to white, so you don't have to edit your sigs. :D  Another thing is the "post" a message (also applies to the "reply" screen)... apparently some of the images there are squashed too.  We recently switched servers and some of the code didn't like the move, so I'm working on that.  :)  At anyrate, welcome welcome, and let me know if ya need anything!

I'm working on going through the entire site and fixing all the images to be the same thing.  The reply button in your IM inbox is different (I think), so there's alot of changes to do.  Just remember, at anytime, feel free to holler at me! :D

Hey, I'm not sure what happened with the about horse forum....I've been away.  But, I figured I would follow as all the 'good' members moved over here ;) lol  

Followed the link from about.com's page. I wanted to know where are the knowledgable and extremly helpful people went. I was thinking I'd take a trial ride and stop hear and rest for a while, hope I"m welcome![cool]

You guys crack me up!![grin] I think Baffled hit it on the head that this will be the new tolerance thread... even though the new "moderator" is supposed stay OUT of the tolerance thread...  Don't know what I'll do about my sig since I'll be horseless for a couple months until my life gets in order....

everybody if you click on the 'notification' button at the bottom of the thread you will be notified any time anyone posts to this thread. Granted it will be any time someone posts, but it's better than having to constantly check a thread!

Well - gosh. This week I had 2 birthdays, an anniversary and a funeral.  Show up on the forum for a little me/horse time, and it has gone wacky.  Or un-wacky as the case may be.  I need you guys!  I may not post yet, but lord you make me smile.   Anyway, I followed you over, and will hang out both places.

For all you folks who don't have your sigs figured out yet, it shouldn't be too hard.  If your sig from the About forum was the way you want it, you'll need to go to that site, log in, and go to the area that you can edit your sig and HIGHLIGHT all the text in that box and copy it (right click will open a window that should allow you to copy).  Then you should come back here and click on the "My Profile" link.  That will take you to your Personal Page.  Once there, up towards the top you should see a link to "Edit Profile".  Clicking that will take you to another page, where you should scroll down the box for your signature (it's right above the timezone and date format menus).  Just click in that box and right-click your mouse and click on Paste, and that should bring your sig from About right on over.  For those of you who know some HTML, you can enter anything else (using the HTML code) in the signature box here to customize your sigs.  There's also another way to do things, instead of using an avatar from the website, you can use a custom image (sort of like the one of me and my son here), or use your sig image here.  This will show up to the left of your posts in the forum.  However, this doesn't allow the option of having text in it, so it's up to you all. :)

I will try to get this information added to the FAQ (accessed by the front page or by clicking the Help link at the top of the page) early next week.  I'm also still working on trying to get the message background in the forums to be white.  Bear with me!  :)

I go away for a conference and the About/Horse Forum is in ruins (Yikes!)
And people at work are at each other (even more than usual, which is saying A LOT).
I'm w/ redkan, jackandjava, and a few of the others - a fence sitter. Sorry, I won't mention the "other place" anymore.

You should be able to!  It has to be online somewhere.  Just click the "Use your own picture" checkmark box underneath all the "ani-icon jobberwhat" selections (LOL) and type in the URL to your dude.  :D

Hey guys back again and just seeing how the old gang is doing. Those who are not returning to the about forum I just wanted to say I miss you so much! haha I don't want to miss out on any of Baffleds fabulousness either! How is Roo doing? HOw are all you guys? I am having a  hard time getting used to this place, it confuses me easily... but what doesn't? haha Anyways just wanted to sat I miss you, tolernace sure isn't the same taht is for sure!

Hi everyone (waving).  I'm wondering the same thing about TPT4.  What's everyone's idea?  I have a few likely prospects, but nothing I can put my finger on.

I like how someone over there "KNOWS" who it is...  I'm usually pretty good at playing the "who can it be" game... but heck... just when I think I maybe have it figured out... something is said that just throws me for a loop. So, I have no idea!

It's nice... and supposed to be nice the rest of the week. Got babysitter lined out for tonight so we can go ropin... Morgan up visiting with her adopted granny... and I'm stuck inside freezing my butt off working...

Hello ppl. Sounds like everybody knows somebody, but me. Let's fixed that issue now. Howdy[grin] I'm from Texas and new to this forum thang. I'm not your usual poster person, but I been isolated so long from the general population I figure to make friends here and hope to see folks in person ( hopefully some of ya'll be in an event with me) I don't dressage, but I'm western type rider I guess[rolleyes] Love barrelracing/polebending - just got started. Rode and trained horses all my life I like em gentle w/ speed.

That's what I think! It should be just as illegal! I'd be extremely pissed off... Wonder if I'd fill any of those "quotas" or if I'm too white.. regardless of plumbing....

What happened to your horses?  Did I miss something being off the other forum since late last week???

I think TPT4 is 'cowboyislife'. I really don't like him/her, whoever they are.

Tut Tut! Have you missed Penny's owner wanting to exclude the elderly (i.e. anyone over 30) from "real" colleges and universities? Thinks they should be satisfied with being allowed to go to night school and "special" schools and not intrude their derelict, aged selves where they can be nothing but a blot on the academic landscape!

This blot on the landscape just wandered over to say hi to absent friends. I'm having a hard time figuring this out - have already had one message eaten up by cyberspace when the connection failed and my computer froze - so will post this quickly before it disappears too. Miss you all. [confused]

I try to read all the messages, not so much for 'moderation', but more so to make sure images work, and so forth...  I saw that yours wasn't right, and went in and edited just the code for the sig.  BASICALLY, you had the link right, but you didn't have the code telling it to insert it as an image, it was just linking it.  So's I fixed it. :D

I fixed the other one too, TrailMenace's.  :D

    What you were trying to do by announcing this misinformed information is beyond me? 1 person that I know of actually named RTO and Baffled, and another person corrected them and told them to look elsewhere. I don't know about others but I personally think the attacking troll is somone else. Whether RTO amd Baffled were recruited today to have some fun with tonto, burt and bill is beyond me, but a guess nonetheless.

I started using the UOF ('Uppity Old Folk') after 'Penny's owner' insisted that 'Old People', those over 30, have no business being on any college/university campus.  'Course, as I'm 57 (til June) that really makes me an 'Uppity Old Folk' (or Fossil, if you prefer) to think that it's OK for me to take the college level courses that I do frequently.[evil] Shame on me


I have a different idea as to who the "TROLLS" might be - some of the total supporters of MBROK. [rolleyes]  Yeah I know it's a bit of a bizarre concept but stop and think - there are those who have continually kept it going by their replies to ALL the supposed 'Trolls', seeming to enjoy it and making 'brownie points'. Fan-tabulous Baffled One - Speak for yourself - I may be a lot older than you but I have only a couple (well maybe 10) grey hairs naturally. (Mom was very grey in her early 20's and all white by late 30's but Dad still had no white/grey when he died at 68 ) [tongue] Course, I'm sure I have a lot more wrinkles than you have [frown] and lot more aches and pains [cry] or some would say I'm just a pain. After missing most of of the WW3 that happened at About.com I decided to take a few minutes and look around over here.  Must confess that work is keeping me much busier now than it did when I was "foruming" with you guys over there, but I will check in from time to time to get some good horsey chatter going on.  I see lots of names that I recognize- and want to thank Rope and NCAgrigirl (sorry, you'll always be that to me) :) for putting together a place that excludes the DRAMA.  It is so out of hand, and judging by my quick visit there yesterday, not much has changed.  I guess Buffett's right... If we couldn't laugh we would all go INSANE!
